A new beginning

11 01 2011

I’ve just completed a  year of volunteering with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. First in Chennai, India and for the last  7 months in Val Morin, Quebec at the Yoga Camp in the Laurentian mountains about an hour north of Montreal. As well as teaching yoga and instructing part of the Teachers Training  Course, I launched a new website with a couple other volunteers.

I’ve posted some photos of the Laurentians on flickr.  I caught all 4 seasons in 7 months.

The experience was fantastic, and very intense. I was waking up at 4am most days. The people I met there (other staff, students and guests) made the experience unforgettable.

Catching up on sleep at the moment and preparing for my next steps, which will see me setting up relaxation retreats around Toronto, and in Costa Rica and Spain.

Stay tuned.

I didn’t have much free time to take photos of life at the Ashram,  but I posted a few on flickr. And don’t miss Rishi’s beautiful photos of the ashram and the courses.

You’ll get the idea of what it was like, except for the waking up at 4am part, I don’t think there are  too many photos of that.

If you want more info on staying at the ashram look here – I redesigned the Ashram website, and 8 other sites in India for all the ashrams and centres.
